reviews for amer's falafel

"For the past 14 years, this place has served healthy and fast Mediterranean and Lebanese specialties to local crowds who can't get enough of them ..."

"There's a reason why they have been around so long. It's great food. The falafel is about the best you can get outside of Israel .... The prices are comparable to others but the food you get is much better. Their salad platter is excellent ... "

"You will see all kinds of people there. It's appeal is universal. Not only do they have fabulous food but they are always friendly. A prized commodity in Los Angeles! The falafel is by far the best I've sampled in Los Angeles and the hummus is amazing."

"Never heard of the place, never tried it, and thought it was some hole in the wall whenever I passed it on my way to CVS or Baskin Robbins. Then during my search for something to eat on Ventura Blvd, I decided to see what this crowded little place called Amer's Falafel was all about. It was not a hole in the wall at all, they recently renovated and now have a much more contemporary decor with its LCD screens and burgundy colored walls. It took a little longer to get my food because I ordered the mixed grill, however, to my surprise, the food was incredible. I haven't tasted middle eastern food this good since my last trip to Israel. You have gotta to try the laffa bread (made fresh in their oven in the back) - it was soooooo good I ordered 2 to go after finishing my plate. I would highly recommend the place not only because the food is excellent, but also because the staff are very friendly and responsive. Two definite thumbs up. "
